I know we all have our moments but for most of us they are short-lived and few and far between (hopefully). I normally shop for pet food and supplies from a locally-owned feed store but one of the chain stores had a great sale on something I needed plus I had a gift card to use up from the same store. I was behind a man who looked to be near my parents' age (mid-60s) as he was finishing up his transaction. On the top of his receipt was an entry-form for a contest to win a trip to Westminster (as in Kennel Club show). Well, we live in a town called Westminster and this must have truly perplexed this gentleman. For literally the next 5 minutes, he argued and questioned the clerk, and me once I got into the fray and tried to explain. First, it was an option to enter. The contest had no bearing on his purchase or anything else pertinent. Second, a line was forming while he went on and on about something so inconsequential. Third, there are countless other places named Westminster (we have a 'sister' city in Colorado that we co-opt with since the early 90s); we have not cornered the market on the name by a long shot. I'm glad he had the time to waste on a triviality but it really started to burn me up when he just wouldn't quit.
