Well...I saw it tonight and I liked it. Yes, it's bloody but battle isn't pretty so I expected it. The fighting is very well "choreographed" and reminds me of a top-notch martial arts demonstration. Surprisingly, I was drawn to the costumes for a few minutes at the very beginning and then I got into everything going on and didn't really pay much attention to them. I do have to say that the whole Spartan army was impressive.

As for Gerry, I thought he did a great job! His sense of humor and sarcastic wit came through in the way he addressed the Persian leaders and he made a believable leader in battle. I didn't think the love scene was all that steamy. The R rating obviously came from the violence which like I said, was extreme but true to accounts I've read of battle at that time.

I think it will surprise folks if what I saw tonight is any indication. The theater was close to full at the showings and the late show was sold out. That just doesn't happen here on this island so I expect it to do very well overall.

Lynn, I didn't take my daughter who is also 15 but I didn't see anything that I feel would be a big trouble for her. The male nudity is tastefully done, she's seen women's breasts before and the love scene is more suggestion than anything.
