The Furminator - this is a comb and waterless shampoo system for dogs (I think there is one for cats too). We bought ours at PetSmart. With two Golden Retrievers, there is usually enough hair on the floors to make a third dog. Our female has particularly coarse hair which mats easily. After one use with just the brush (it's been too cold outside to try the shampoo), she appeared half her size! I could not believe how much hair and undercoat we got from her. We brush them regularly but obviously, this comb works much better.

Mineral Foundations - after the success of Bare Minerals, most make-up companies are coming out going with mineral-based lines. I use mostly Nicole Miller facial products and they have a new set of mineral foundations. I prefer the mineral powder to the pressed powder I formerly used but I don't think it's the be all, end all either. I have a very fair complexion and even the lightest shade is darker than my skin tone so it doesn't blend as naturally as I'd like. This happens with all foundations though, not just this kind, so it's more me with the problem than the product itself. I also feel that I have to use more of the mineral powder to get the coverage I desire and given that it costs more than the other powders, doesn't seem to be as good of a deal for the money.
