It's okay for this to be here -- you know how I feel -- I never mind folks saying what they want to as long as they are respectful.

So, having said that...

Yes, I'm quite tired of it -- and I've never seen anything like it. Yes, it's an historic event and maybe that deserves a little "extra" but I think things have really gone way overboard. And, yes, that pedestal is extremely high -- I sure wouldn't want to be on it. Like you, I wish Obama well -- and I hope he'll be good -- even great -- for America (even though I didn't vote for him, why would I wish him to fail?) -- but, yeah, when you look at how much this is costing, it's absurd. I'm sure folks would argue that it's from donations, so it's okay -- but those same donations could have been put to much better use -- however, the same folks who donated to this probably wouldn't have donated to a better use -- so maybe it doesn't matter -- and I'm sure the same could be said for any inauguration, not just this one. Anyway, all it takes to become president is being sworn in -- and that takes about one minute. In my opinion, no president really ought to do any more than that.
