My first reaction is that this is very wrong. I don't believe in censoring a classic book. But then if the choice is between kids not reading the stories at all or reading an edited version, I'd have to agree with the edited version. But the cover has to clearly state that it's an edited version meant to be read by children. I can sort of think of it as when TV edits R rated movies for content, time and picture size.
  I just wish there was some way to actual ask Twain to find out what he thinks about the whole thing
