LOL, I do the same thing, find a 'pull through' spot because backing that thing up isn't easy. You can't see out the back of ours because of the cap. The other night I got stuck being designated driver. We still have loads of snow on the ground from the Dec 26th storm and basically I have to park the truck on the side of a snow bank to get it out of the street. Well, I let everyone out of the truck and attempted to park it. My tipsy, snarky hubby says "You're in the middle of the street, pull closer." I tried backing up, couldn't see my neighbor's car, so I said "Heck with this". I ended up driving around the block in order to line up right with the snowbank so I could park the beast, err truck.
I have no idea how my husband can drive the truck when he's hauling our boat. We have a 16' Cape Craft that we haul down to our trailer in the Spring and home in the Fall. (In the Winter I call it my lawn ornament, LOL) Dave's truck is actually longer then the boat. But add the trailer and you've doubled the length of the vehicle you are trying to drive. Scary, but hubby makes it look easy. I've only once had to drive the truck with the trailer attached, (The boat had been launched) and it sure was hard.
