Gee, we have a pet cemetery in our yard. We bury our cats and birds next to the wood pile.
Growing up, dead pets and larger wild animals were buried in the back corner of the yard. My brother or I would paint a large rock with the animal's name and place it on top of the grave. My mom then planted flowers all around the stones making it into a pretty garden. (did I ever mention my mother is a crazed gardener?)  I sometimes wonder what future owners of my parents' house will think of the stones. Our dogs have always had "human" names. Humphrey, Henry, Natasha, Brooklyn, Jennifer, and Teddy. I can imagine someone uncovering the stones and thinking they've run across an old family plot. Or knowing the town I grew up in, it could be a mafia burial site. LOL
