I sometimes wonder what future owners of my parents' house will think of the stones. Our dogs have always had "human" names. Humphrey, Henry, Natasha, Brooklyn, Jennifer, and Teddy. I can imagine someone uncovering the stones and thinking they've run across an old family plot. Or knowing the town I grew up in, it could be a mafia burial site. LOL

Actually that's the main reason we decided to have our dogs cremated -- we are not likely to be in this house forever and I really didn't want to "leave them behind". It's not that I think they are still "there" -- I don't believe that about humans either -- but I just don't like the thought of burying them in the backyard and then the backyard becoming someone else's property -- but that's just me -- I don't have any problem with burying them, otherwise. The first dog that Mark and I had together is buried down at the farm -- back then, we never even thought of cremation -- and not sure if anybody was doing it at that time.

Yeah, most of ours have human names, too (right now, we have Clayton, Liesl, Daphne and Neville) -- so ours might look like a family plot as well! LOL -- mafia...well, we don't have that problem around here...but I'm sure there are plenty of skeletons in closets, so to speak!
