So, Meli, I have to ask...why Romania during civil unrest?  And chicken feet/heads...ugh...I might have screamed...

Erika, seaweed,in any form, doesn't sound very appetizing!

I wouldn't say I'm an adventurous eater but I will try most things -- I do have a few hang-ups -- and I'd want to know what I was eating before I took a bite, if I couldn't tell by looking.

I like fried oysters (love them, actually) but that's the only way I like them. When we were in New Orleans, I tried one on a half-shell. I got it down but it wasn't easy...only my desire not to vomit on the other people at our table kept me from making a spectacle of myself. It wasn't so much the taste -- but just the slimy feel of it as it slid down my throat. It might have actually tasted okay but I couldn't get past the sensation of having to swallow it.

Also, another seafood story...we were at the auction at the kids' high school -- they usually have great food and most of what they had the night in question was fine. I have never found the idea of fish tacos to be appetizing (love "regular" tacos) but they had them so I decided I'd try it. Anyway, one bite was all it took...it was horrible -- now, I don't know if it was just the way those were prepared or whether I'd have the same reaction to any fish taco but I had to do something. Fortunately, I was able to spit it into a napkin with no one seeing (Mark blocked me -- I couldn't have made it to the restroom). I tossed the rest into the trash -- and did not go back to that table that night!
