Well, it looks like this is a go. I got my new work visa (as a Canadian, I need a visa in order to work in the US - but it isn't a major issue, just go to the border with the right paperwork and you pay a $56 fee, and it's done). That got done on Wednesday. I wanted to give notice but couldn't because my boss is off until Monday. So that means I should have one week at home before I need to fly down to Phoenix to start my new job (June 4). I'll be staying in a hotel for a bit, until I can find a place to move into, then I need to come back up here and pick up a few things (including my 2 cats who I absolutely must take with me, and my car) before heading back down. I'm excited, but nervous - there are quite a few things to do before I take off - but it's going to be so great to be somewhere new. Lynn, you said your brother lives out there - have you been out there? What do you know about the area? I've been looking at lots of websites, and it seems my mother has a friend whose son is a real estate guy down there, who may be able to help me find a place to live (looking for somewhere furnished for the time being, just in case things don't work out the way I hope they will), and I know that it's a heck of a lot hotter there than here. Oh well, it's not the first time I've just up and gone somewhere without knowing anyone!
