Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been trying to figure out how serious every thing actually is. Hubby saw his doctor who scheduled more tests. And a cardio cathador (SP?) I know I'm misspelling it, but don't feel like looking for the paperwork. Basically he has to go to the hospital next Friday and they insert a camera on a long thin wire either in his groin or through his wrist, depending on which doctor actually does the test. The camera gets sent up to his heart and they look for blockages. If they are small enough, they will remove them immediately, if they are serious, they might even do a bypass. He had to sign all these forms allowing them to do certain things if they find certain results. Initially he will be an out patient, but if they find anything serious he will end up being overnight or longer. Needless to say the kids and I are very worried. They tried having him take some medication (Metoprolol?) and he had a bad reaction to it. So I guess that's why they are doing this.
Anyway, I'm not looking forward to Friday. We have to be at the hospital by 7AM, which means we have to leave the house by 6:15. He's not allowed to eat or drink or smoke, so he's going to be a complete grouch. I have to get my brother to take the kids to school, so they will be upset, first worried about their dad, second having to deal with my brother.
I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that they are catching this early enough that its easy, not that they discover he's completely messed up his heart with all his smoking. I just found out that they did this test to my dad a few years ago and he was fine. But then my dad was never a smoker. We also had a good friend that had the same symptoms and even with the test and treatment, he was dead a few weeks later.
So please send prayers, I really appreciate them.
Ida.
