Young (17) David A. sang his own rendition of "Think of Me". Amazingly he pulled it off, making it a slight pop song. I was prepared to hate it but didn't. The kid has a very pure voice. Not my favorite even though he has a great voice.
Syesha was the best, I think of all. She had the voice and attitude for the song she sang, coming off very Broadway. Didn't know the song but liked her performance.
Carly sang "Jesus Christ Superstar". She has a big voice, had some fun and I liked it.
Jason sang "Memories", and it was kinda cringe worthy. All I can say.
Brooke sang a song from Evita that I don't know. She did ... okay. But she messed up the lyrics and asked the orchestra to begin again. After that she just seemed really scared. Her and Jason are both in very vulnerable spots tonight.
My main reason for writing this is David Cook. He is my favorite. Love his raspy rock-n-roll voice. I think he's a fav to win ....but....
last night he sang "Music of the Night". While the guys has great tones he was like a wooden stick out on the stage. He added absolutely no passion to the song. I listened and it made my heart almost sick. Some have said that he's not an actor so he did awesome and to them showed a lot of emotion. I think they need to get a soundtrack of the movie or the play and listen with their ears and not with their eyes and maybe they would hear what captured most of us. Even Webber was trying to get David to understand the sensuality of the song. Too bad he failed because I really thought that David might have pulled it off.
