Removing Self-tanner |
Lead | ||
|
I wanted to share this (thanks to Meli!). Before the wedding, I applied some self-tanner -- it was a spray-on and I didn't rub it in -- and some of it
pooled around my ankles and left some pretty dark (ugly) splotches. Anyway, Meli suggested using baking soda and a loofah. Well, I didn't have a loofah so,
after letting the spots fade on their own until the wedding day, I used the baking soda -- putting it on a washcloth. And, voila! It worked. Took the dark
places right off! Thanks, Meli!!

Welcome! Glad it worked for ya'! Didn't want you have a PH or LL Tang-moment during wedding photos or anything.

i never use fake tan anymore cos i can never get it quite right...no matter how much i exfoliate and moisturise first..i always end up with orangy bits round
my elbows etc. I have often used baby wipes or deodorant wipes to take it off..and it usually works well!

I'm with you, Marie. Self-tanner never really works for me so I don't know why I even tried it (especially right before the wedding). I also usually
end up just looking orange -- not sure if it's my technique that's wrong or my choice of self-tanner.

Holiday skin isnt so bad...but i still get the odd orangy bit...but so much easier to apply and you can build it up gradually. Although i never put it on my
face, cos you know if i did it would go soooooo wrong!!

I've never tried any self-tanner just b/c I think it looks so obvious and usually heinous. However, I do use tinted moisturizing lotion. Most name-brand
lotions now offer products to aide in abolishing the milky whites. As long as you rub it in evenly and well, you don't have to worry about streaks or
splotches and it also doesn't have that signature orange glow. Jergens makes a very nice formula as does St. Tropez and Coppertone (you'll find these
with the suntan oils rather than the moisturizers). Most make-up manufacturers also have lines (Estee Lauder, L'Oreal, Avon, etc...), which may be
referred to as bronzers.
