I saw this movie several years ago but never read the book. I've been waiting on some books I recently ordered and didn't want to start anything too large or involved so I took this one out of a box of used books that I'm selling. I'm about 2/3 of the way through and it's very good if you like fast-paced, tense plots. There have been a few places that were impossible to put down. As usual, for me anyway, the book far outshines the movie, although the film was not horrible. Smith's writing style is simplistic (not to make a pun) and I've gotten through it quickly; in part due to the need to know what happens next and because it is an easy read. I'll probably go back and rewatch the movie after I'm done to catch some of the nuance I missed the first time around.
