Lynn or anyone who is visiting Asheville, North Carolina,
We found a good bakery in Asheville at 1950 Hendersonville Rd. It's at the same exit as the Biltmore House Estate, but instead of turning left at the off ramp to go to the Biltmore House, you go right about five miles or so. The bakery is in a little shopping plaza on the left-hand side that has a post office as well; it's easy to spot the postal symbol, the blue eagle, on the plaza sign. I took Laura there after her visit to the arthritis doctor, where they had to draw blood. She was such a good girl, didn't cry once, sat there smiling at me while the nurse drew the blood. I had heard about the bakery on talk radio, that their baked goods were all-natural and fresh baked. They don't carry gluten-free products so I couldn't try anything but Laura said the thumbprint butter cookies were delicious and the chocolate/nut cookies were the BEST! She also liked their apricot/sour cream cookie. The cheese danish looked tasty but were too hard and dry. But that was the only sub-par item item out of the box of goodies we took home.(well, that made it home and didn't get EATEN on the way by my little cookie monster!)
