Member Posts: 2972 01/30/07 04:41 PM	Hey Lynn, Just wondering....are you beyond writing anymore FF using GB as your muse? Has that shipped sailed? Other than for obviously enjoyment, I happen to think that he looks so different from picture to picture that it hasn't been hard to find a picture of him that fit into pretty much all of your stories. With the exception of Michael. However, I did see G as Robert. I couldn't help it.

Member Posts: 10954 01/30/07 05:10 PM YO MAMA Slightly Off-Kilter	Well, when you say "fanfiction", I am assuming you mean something like MEG AND GERARD which uses Gerry as a real character (or the other definition of fanfiction, which is using a character someone has portrayed) The answer to that question is probably not...I never say never though...I've learned that lesson... If you are asking,though, will I use him as a "face" again, that's always a possibility!! Lynn

PARRISH and ALANNAH, I was still so overwrought with him that no matter what I did, I just saw him, no matter what. I think I've come far enough now, though, that I can pretty much write a character without it being based on anyone -- though it still helps to use a "face" to get me going. *Quote:* Although I haven't come across you doing an extension story to one of his characters. I have to be honest and say that this type of fanfiction just isn't my thing -- I'm not knocking it at all because I think a lot of great stories have probably been written and more power to the authors of them -- but, for whatever reason, those "extensions" (reading them or writing them) just don't interest me at all. So, while I'll never say never, you would be very unlikely to ever see me "spin" a story off of an already established character. I would like to say, though, that I will always be very grateful to Gerry because he is definitely what inspired me to write M&G -- and because of M&G, I've kept writing -- something I might not have not done if M&G had not broken the dam! I do not particularly get "into" character spin offs either [excellent description] although some of them are pretty entertaining. I hope that I am past the overwrought part of being a Gerry admirer, but I do think he embodies the characters that I read. For me at least. Used to be Adrian Paul. I wondered why it is always easy for me to have a "face" of my male character as opposed to a female face. And I came to the conclusion [JMHO] that I think every woman wants to see it as herself, or some part of herself. But for me, I don't see my face if that makes any sense. It becomes too personal in a way and an envasion of the lead female. And just from the time that I have spent on this forum and "talking" with you I have come to "see" you in all of your females, especially in Meg which makes perfect sense, because you are the creator of them.

We put ourselves into the story in that way and it makes it more real, perhaps. I wonder, though, do men have the same reaction when they are reading a book? I mean, there are many men authors aren't there that write romance novels?? But I think by nature because women are creatures of the heart, that they are the ones that really put themselves into a story or make it come to life while they are reading it. Fantasy Face.......that's a good one

Member Posts: 620 01/31/07 05:06 PM	I cannot recall the names at the moment, but I recall reading somewhere that men who have written so called romance novels have used a female pen name - because publishers also don't seem to think that men can write them or that the public will accept a man writing such a thing! Interesting - wish I could remember the author(s) mentioned, though.
