Hope everyone will have a happy mother's day, whether you are a mother, a daughter and/or a pet mom!
As you might suspect, this Mother's Day feels a little different and I just want it to be as peaceful as possible. As I've said before, Mother's Day has never been one of my favorite days because I never got to do anything I wanted to do -- it was all about Mama -- now, she's gone and I basically am content to do nothing this year. Next year will most likely be different. I decided not to go to church as I figured it was a good possibility that I might get emotional for one reason or another and it was probably best to sit this one out.
Yesterday, we went to a restaurant about an hour from here in South Carolina -- yes, worth the drive -- just good "southern" food. Frances and a f friend of mine went, too. Earlier, Carrie and I went to a Lularoe (clothing) Mother's Day event and that was fun. The kids all gave me an Edible Arrangement (which I love -- I love fresh fruit but don't want to have to cut anything up!!). Mark surprised me with a black pearl ring, which will match my necklace (will be wearing both to the wedding).
